    • This was my outfit for a party last night. After I saw how gorgeous this dress looked on xtina, I had to have it. I love the stripes against these snakeskin Helmut Lang heels. I think so. cal sunsets are beautiful, and you can see a bit of one in the honeyed look of these photos taken outside. xoxo

    • I’m in love with these velvet platform sandals from Topshop. They’re super bright and rich pink with purple ribbon ties—perfect. I love these shades against grey. Here are some other recent purchases, including a grey MBMJ sweater with metallic pink striped sleeves and a cotton/lace romper from GAP. Added my Janine Basil beaded pill box hat for good measure. This Fall, I’m all about dreamy textures and combining muted and bright tones. xo

  • 09/05/11--17:16: Palm Springs Beauty (chan 2123648)

    • I spent the last three nights in Palm Springs and loved it. We stayed at a boutique hotel called Korakia Penisone. In wearing this outfit to dinner, I was inspired by the beauty and romance of the location. I paired this fabulous tulle skirt with a grey and ivory romper and a blush jacket. Also added my fuchsia velvet platforms, grey python print clutch, & blue stingray cuff.

    • Palm Springs is a fashion oasis, from designer shops to thrift stores, it’s not hard to find a gem to bring back home. At Revivals Gallery I found a perfect pair of vintage, high waisted, light blue jeans. At the Estate Sale Company, I found this retro-fabulous pair of vintage gold and pearl earrings. Finally, I visited the Desert Hills Outlets.

    These shops are sitting in the desert. So, it really does feel like you’re on a desert journey looking for treasure. At the Prada store I found these Miu Miu heels with double ankle straps in a beautiful wine leather. The only pair and in my size! (Insert beautiful music.) I love a shoe that has an expertly placed strap or buckle and I knew these would be perfect with longer skirts and rolled up pants. I slipped them on and it was instant love. Thank you to my fiancé for these perfect gifts.

    So beautiful! I can’t wait to visit again and explore more.

    My Shopping Strategy for Desert Outlets

    • Stop by customer service and ask for a discount book (some stores offer additional discounts)
    • Wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes + clothing, and a lightweight bag w/ your essentials
    • Bring water and a protein-rich snack to revitalize you (there were over 100 stores)
    • Map out the stores you want to visit first and which you may visit if time and energy permit—I only visited the outlets for Saks, Barneys, Prada, Jimmy Choo, and JCrew.
    • Come early or else risk someone else finding your dream garment/shoe before you
    • Be picky! Don’t buy anything just because it’s discounted - only buy that which you know you can’t find elsewhere and would be heartbroken leaving behind.

    In the fashion world, the Fall season is here. But I’m a California girl and my summer always feels longer. This was definitely the season of the crop top. I know there will be naysayers, but so what. Time is fleeting, have fun with fashion. Not next year or when you drop a size—now.

    I think crop tops look so so flirty paired with higher rise jeans. I chose mid-blue, mid-rise boyfriend jeans that were slouchy all over. Also added two-tone mary janes, a sparkly necklace, and hot pink glitter nail polish. One of my favorite casual outfits this summer.

    Here are a few photos of an outfit I wore to have lunch and shop in Costa Mesa, CA. Lately I’m obsessed with this creamy rose hue. Something about it makes me think of sunsets in Morocco.

    This top has delicate beading and is so beautiful in this color. It’s super soft and just glides over the body—my favorite trait in an oversized top. It’s from Nordstrom’s plus line Sejour. Love this with my new gold leather Halston clutch!

    • Here are my dream gifts this holiday season! At the top of my list is the Leica D-Lux 5, a small camera that will brilliantly capture moments and memories. I actually already purchased this Vivienne Westwood glitter-finish top for myself as an early Christmas present. Swooning over the belts and buckles of this Burberry lambskin leather hobo.

    The Tiffany “Little Blue Book” is a beautiful and elegant way to keep your notes, lists, and ideas. Because I love scents, a bottle of the ultra sexy Ormonde Jayne Ta’if Rose parfum and my favorite body crème, Jo Malone Orange Blossom. Finally, since I am a San Francisco girl at heart, a box of Cocoa Bella holiday chocolates.

    • Here’s an outfit from this weekend. I paired these inky blue corduroy pants with this cashmere top. For some extra tszuj I added this unique vest with purple silk bows. Love all the textures! Also, you can see a better picture of my lighter hair color.

I love layering sheer blouses under knits. This blouse is perfect because it’s cut just low enough for the lace of my bralette to peek out.
